Rewind 2013:showstoppers in the Fashion Department

From Katrina, Sonam, Deepika to Tabu, Rani, Madhuri and Karisma, many A-list Bollywood celebs turned showstoppers for their favourite designers in 2013. Take a look at these gorgeous divas on the ramp!

 

 

Bollywood beauties Shilpa Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi walked the ramp at India International Bullion Summit showcasing exquisite jewellery.

 Looking elegant in a bronze-beige lehenga choli, Katrina strutted her stuff with élan at the launch of YRF’s first Bollywood inspired fashion line Diva’ni.

Deepika ‘towered’ above all others in an exquisite deep blue Manish Malhotra lehenga, which was heavily embroidered in gold and silver thread. In a neat hairdo and an eye-catching neckpiece, the actress definitely made a statement on the ramp, flaunting her perfect midriff at the show.

Sania gracefully glided down the ramp for designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil in a gorgeous off-white net one-shouldered gown with gold drapes and embroidery scattered all over the bodice.

‘Student of the Year’ actress Alia Bhatt made her ramp debut with India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.She dazzled in a fitted gold gown and presented the luxury jewellery brand Azva’s new bridal collection that is inspired from the saat pheras.

Fishtail braids never looked more sexy than it did on on this fashionista.The red ghagra-choli by B-Town’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra did wonders to Sonam’s already curvaceous frame.

Actress Tabu turned showstopper for designer Anju Modi at Delhi Couture Week (DCW) 2013.

Justifying the theme of the show, ‘Draupadi’, a character from the Mahabharata, Tabu walked the ramp in a beautiful red lehenga embellished with gold and silver embroideries, refined needle work and zardozi. The red and mustard coloured silhouette was created using fabrics like organic silk, raw silk and chanderi.

Stopping Payal Singhal’s show at LFW was the lovely super model and actress Lisa Haydon, who glided down the ramp in a blush lehenga, long sleeve choli and net dupatta.

A YRF regular, Rani Mukherjee pulled the look off quite brilliantly and the rapunzel-like braid caught our attention at the launch on Diva’ni.

Soha looked a million bucks as she sashayed down the runway in an elaborate Arpita Mehta creation at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

 

The charismatic Chitrangada Singh walked the ramp for Azva at IBFW, wearing a stunning gold beaded neckpiece and another on the head along with rows of bangles, kadas, bracelets and delicately crafted earrings.

Kalki looked beautiful in a lemon yellow and light green lehenga and a golden choli.The wedding of actress Kalki Koechlin and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was the inspiration for designer Anushree Reddy’s collection Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

 

Parineeti sashayed down the ramp at Diva’ni launch wearing a heavy lehenga choli. While we liked her on-ramp gestures, we are not too sure of the crowded headgear.

Preity Zinta took to the runway at the launch of YRF’s fashion line, wearing a classy sharara reminding us of her ‘Veer Zaara’ days. The accessories were an instant hit and the actress hasn’t lost her charm one bit.

The beautiful Bollywood couple left us spell-bound with their real-life romance on the ramp.

Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza turned showstoppers for Neeta Lulla at India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. While Ritesh, in an ink blue velvet sherwani and pants with matching embroidered kurta, strutted down the ramp with great style, his lady love Genelia entered from the audience in a luxurious brown Indian silk lehenga combined with a peplum blouse.

The spunky Anushka Sharma wowed in a pretty saree paired with an embellished blouse at the launch of Diva’ni. Red lips, chunky earrings and red roses pinned to the sexy braid did the trick for her.

 

While gorgeous Nargis Fakhri went desi for Ritu Kumar at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2013, dazzling Juhi Chawla stole the show in a Marathi avatar. Shriya Saran oozed feminine chic in a pastel pink lehenga choli.

Dazzling in a gold gown with a heavily embroidered top, Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor walked the ramp for ace designer Vikram Phadnis at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2013.

 

Adding glamour and glitz to jewellery brand Agni’s show at India International Jewellery Week was its brand ambassador – Amrita Rao.She swirled onto the ramp modelling a stunning gold enamelled ruby, emerald and diamond peacock inspired neckpiece.

 

Actress Kangana Ranaut hit the ramp as showstopper for designer JJ Valaya, dressed as an elegant princess, on the opening day of IBFW 2013.

Looking resplendent in an orange-golden lehenga teamed with a blue velvet choli and golden headgear, Kangana looked every bit a princess as she sashayed down the ramp in the character of the Maharaja’s daughter.

 

Designer Vikram Phadnis’s showstoppers at Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2013 was close friend and actress Malaika Arora Khan. Malaika stunned in an elaborate pink lehenga.

The very graceful and regal Karisma Kapoor walked the ramp for Kay jewels at IIJW.The yesteryear hottie looked smashing in a black Manish Malhotra anarkali accessoried with a gleaming diamond set from the jewellery brand.

Former Miss Universe, actress Sushmita Sen turned showstopper for Charu Jewels at India International Jewellery Week.She looked absolutely gorgeous in a zardosi bridal lehenga, choli and dupatta displaying a sensational choker with emerald centre along with three strands of alternating pearls, emeralds, assorted bangles and rings.

 

Actress and former model Dia Mirza looked stunning in an Indian wear as she walked the ramp for designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.The actress was covered in bridal ornaments, wearing a red zardosi covered lehenga, tiny velvet choli and shimmering dupatta.

 

A princess in her own right, this Bollywood diva exuded desiness in a very traditional and elaborate creation by designer Preeti S kapoor at India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.Making a dramatic show-stopping entry under a canopy of flowers, Aditi Rao Hydari glided down the ramp in a red heavily embellished gold lehenga, choli and orange dupatta.

 

Fashionista Sonam Kapoor graced the ramp on the grand finale of IIJW, wearing a beautiful traditional red saree by designer J J Valaya. The actress showcased a bewitching Bridhichand Ghanshyamdas long Raani Haar made of emeralds, polkis and pearls with élan.

 

Actress Lisa Haydon sizzled the ramp showcasing an intricate Nirav Modi creation at IIJW 2013. Her flowy peach sheer lehenga complemented the exquisite diamond jewellery.
